Episode 59: Concrete – Strange Armor

Recorded on January 3, 2010.

59

On the first episode of 2010 (the year we make contact), Jason and I review Paul Chadwick’s Concrete – Strange Armor. Our bodily processes malfunction, we experience the misery of my neighbors, Jason has a close encounter and I make some uncomfortable admissions. We also talk about licensed comics, American Entertainment and 80s comics. I dream of Larry David as The Thing, and finally Jason experiences a Christmas miracle dressed in sweatpants.

Jason referred to DARYL! I thought I was the only person in the world who even knew that movie about a Data Analyzing Robot Youth Lifeform even existed! Also, thank you for the Avett Brothers song. I bought that album but haven’t listened to it yet.

I’m only 40 minutes into the episode, so I reserve the right to comment again before it’s over.

WOW. Just . . . Just WOW. I closed my eyes and started shaking my head at “asked me for a ride to the drive-thru” and by “blow me” my still shaking head was burrowed in my folded arms. WOW.

Incidentally, I think this version of “Clash of the Titans” IS trying to be serious, which is why it will be lame. It’s a cheap theater watch for me at best.

    Wow.

It’s the guy who did Transporter 2! It CAN’T be serious. Liam Neeson is wearing cartoon armor! Nobody went into this thinking they were making a real movie!
