    I watched this again a couple of days ago. What a great film. Billy Wilder likes to tell stories through flashbacks. Maybe the part of the film that was an influence on Memento is how it kept cutting back to Fred MacMurray in the office recording the message, the same way Memento keeps cutting back to black-and-white Leonard while he tells the story of Ned Ryerson.

    Also, I listened to the Criminal episode again (episode 16), and Jason enjoyed but was disappointed by the book. It had been overhyped for him. I blame myself.
