Planetary Special No. 3

“Big Man” is also unacceptable.

Normally, better late than never is a good thing, but in our case, it’s a punishment. Jason and I wrap up the final issues of Planetary in the last of our dedicated specials. Sadly, we don’t talk that much about Planetary. As always though, we express our love for a John Cassaday and a Warren Ellis, and throw some extra love to comic stalwart Jerry Ordway, artist of the Planetary/Justice League Elseworlds crossover.

Could we be anymore self important?

This week on Gutter Trash, we review the Roman Coppola film CQ. We talk about the Coppola dynasty, discuss nasty bathrooms and predict the Super Bowl score (Jason was close, possibly cheated). We share tales about chaos at the Art Institute, and I get convinced to play Magic: The Gathering. Fear for me.

Episode 63: Asterios Polyp

Nothing funny here. Just go read Asterios Polyp.

This week on the show, Jason and I review David Mazzucchelli’s debut(?!) graphic novel and masterpiece, Asterios Polyp. We also make the decision to try to be drunk more when recording, have dinner with our former Mayor at a restaurant staffed with psychic Mexicans. I declare that I’ll never see Avatar, and review the movie Big Fan. Finally we wrap up by discussing old people fuckin’.
